1. Groups are actually hidden site collections that are not visible in the list of Site Collections of an Office 365 tenant and appear only in Group dashboard. You can access them by URL, for example in my blog post, the group’s site collection was at “https://tanentname.sharepoint.com/sites/aprojectgroup/Shared documents” with Shared Documents being the library that you see as the group library. This site collection as per my understanding is inaccessible via Admin center so i really don’t know if you can actually run powershell operations on it as you do on other site collections. I guess for now we need to rely on group commands and dashboards only.
2. Office 365 Group when Private are not Crawled so the search on them does not work.
3. You have only one Recycle bin per group and if you delete the group you can not recover the data.
4. Microsoft has transformed the type of Azure Active Directory object used by Office 365 Groups so they cab be synchronized with an on-premises Exchange deployment. You’ll need to use the AADConnect tool for synchronization.
5. Office 365 Groups now uses the naming policy that is used to name the distribution groups.
6. You can also Convert traditional Exchange distribution groups to an Office 365 groups using a PowerSehll Script. See it here
7. Office 365 groups can also be assigned permissions to a SharePoint site like a regular user or group is.
8. External users can now participate in groups and access group content. For sharing a file in group, a special external sharing link has been added for these purposes.
9. Global Admins can also Edit Members via Group dashboard in the Office 365 admin center. Details here
10. The new Office 365 UI has a Command bar that is contextually aware and has a responsive design that dynamically adapts the layout to the available screen. See more details here
11. Office 365 Groups is now available as part of Outlook 2016.
